Light Blue Rhinestone and Blue Lucite Open Work Flower Brooch in Silver-Tone

Large, light blue rhinestone open work flower brooch in silver-tone, with a marbled light blue Lucite acrylic cabochon center, measuring 2 3/4 inches in diameter. The rhinestones are gold-foil backed, in open-back settings (see last photo).

This brooch is gently used and in very good condition. This brooch is stamped, ‘(c) WEISS’ on the reverse but we think it may be a reproduction or an imposter. Though the stamped Weiss hallmark has an authentic look, we can’t find examples of Weiss brooches with this particular design. Weiss issued a similarly shaped floral brooch, however, it had all rhinestones (no Lucite center) and included marquis-shaped rhinestones at the center of the flower petals.

This could be a genuine, latter-day Weiss (the company operated until approximately 1971), but we’re not sure. This brooch is in very good condition and pretty on its own. We have set the price accordingly but are not promoting it as a genuine Weiss piece.
